Deer Park’s Parks and Recreation Department

We invite you to come take a walk at the Deer Park Nature Preserve, located at 2500 E. 13^th Street!

While enjoying the biodiversity of the Deer Park Nature Preserve, please remember that protected plants and animals are present in the area.  In studying and restoring both the wetland and the prairie, it is important to safeguard creatures and habitats from human interference. 

A trail system is in place to not only protect attendees as well as the rare plants and animals that live in the nature preserve. 

The southernmost 17 acres of land includes a Conservation Easement to ensure the wetlands are never developed or destroyed.  This means that boardwalks and general access to the area is prohibited.  A buffer of trees will remain along the boardwalk in the area to encourage migratory birds to continue to use the site with little to no disturbance. 

Please remember all dogs must remain on a leash and no bikes are permitted on the trails.
