The Gulf Coast Feline Foundation and the City of Deer Park will host the second annual “Fall, Felines, and Fun” Cat Show on September 7-8, 2019 at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center in Deer Park, Texas.

This show will be another exciting event similar to “Felines, Football, and Fun” events held in January, and will include a cat show presented by Cat Fancier’s Association Coastal Cat Club.

“The mission for these events continues to be supporting Animal Shelters/Rescue Groups as well as feline disease research groups such as the Winn Feline Foundation,” said Michelle Piatt, Treasurer, Vendor Coordinator, Marketing/Publicity Liaison with the Gulf Coast Feline Foundation. “New to the show this year is a designated ‘Pet Me’ area, where spectators meet friendly felines and learn more about their history and personalities.

“Our show hall will represent up to 42 pedigreed breeds plus Household Pets competing for titles, regional, and national wins,” Piatt said. “Breeds such as the Maine Coon, the Bengal, and many more will be available to meet up close and personal. We will be having raffles, contests, and door prize drawings – this is a family friendly event that is fun for all ages!”

As always, the event will feature pet-friendly vendors, concessions and more.

“We’ll also have our agility ring, which will give attendees the chance to watch nimble felines jump over hurdles, run through tunnels, climb steps and run through other obstacles. Attendees can also sponsor a rescue to participate in the agility ring, giving them a chance to play with new toys and try out the obstacles!”

Ready to add a new family member to your home? The “Fall, Felines and FUN” Cat Show will have three area shelters – the Deer Park Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, the La Porte Adoption Center and Animal Shelter and the League City Animal Shelter – with cats and kittens available for adoption.

“If you want to try fostering, the SAVE Rescue Coalition will also be on-site to make the process easy and connect you with the right cat for your family,” Piatt said.

Don’t forget – there are lots of activities for kids to enjoy, as well!

“Make sure to check out our kids’ area, where we’ll be making friendship bracelets with – you guessed it – cat beads! We’ll also have information available on the CFA Youth Feline Education Program, designed to allow youth to excel at their own pace through the activities and age categories while enhancing their appreciation for felines and feline inspired professions,” Piatt said.
